Centres of Excellence

Success!

It's with great pleasure that the Behçet’s Syndrome Society can announce we have been successful in our bid to get 3 Centres of Excellence for Behçet’s disease in England. These centres will transform the care and therefore the quality of life for Behçet’s patients going forward and this is a lanmark for both the Society and all our members.

 

The Centres will be launched in the Spring, although they will not be running to our new model as soon as they open as we only found out we’d been successful this week! The wider medical profession are not aware of the Centres yet, but we have a programme of publicity and marketing to undertake as part of our establishment of the Centres.

 

We will be announcing more details of how and when to register along with how the Centres will operate and what benefits our members will receive in our Society newsletter which is published in early March. If you’re not currently receiving our newsletter, then please join the Society and support the work we’ve done and continue to do on behalf of patients.

 

It is not exaggerating to say that these centres will change the way Behçet’s patients are cared for and diagnosed in the future and it’s through the drive and initiative of the Behçet’s Syndrome Society, working in partnership with the specialists in Behçet’s disease, that it will become reality.
