Help us raise funds for the interferon-alpha trial and win £10,000 every day
Many of you will be aware that the interferon-alpha drug trial is taking place, and one aspect of this trial is the use of injector pens supplied by Schering Plough. The company will not supply them for free, and they cost £50 each. We need 200, and £10,000 is a lot of money, so we have been looking at various fundraising ideas to enable this money to be found. The Weather Lottery is a new way in which the BSS hopes to raise funds, and we hope as many of our members and supporters as possible will sign up and perhaps win some money for us all.
This idea is used by many charities large and small; it is a way of raising money while taking part in a daily lottery to win £10,000. Click on the lottery ball to start your entry or visit the Weather Lottery website, which has an entry for us.
The trick is to forecast six temperatures (numbers) across Europe; at 25p per day, to win such a large amount must be worth a try. There are of course prizes for getting some of the numbers right, as well as the big prize for guessing all six numbers, so sign up and join the fun. We get a royalty for each person playing in our name, so please encourage all your friends to sign up, and those in work please encourage your colleagues to take part. It’s easy – the more people who sign up the more we get. Good luck, and thank you for helping to make the work of the Society better known. The drug trial needs all the support it can get.
