Jan Mather has been a Committee member since 2005 and became Chair of the Society in 2006. She was diagnosed with Behçet's disease in 1997. Jan lives in Knowle near Solihull, is married to John and has a teenage son, Sam. She works as a commercial analyst in IT contract management for the National Grid. Outside of work, Jan helps to organise a youth club for junior school children and a summer activity club, plays the piano and clarinet, and does craft activities.
